Through 2024 Dave has put his skills and knowledge honed over many years of climbing, landscape and outdoor photography to the test by teaching a range of photography workshops. These targeted group sessions offer as much hands-in time as the British weather allows, and are designed to give anyone new to photography - or perhaps a more experienced shooter needing a boost in the right direction - the confidence to take things to the next level.

In 2024 Dave has run workshops in conjunction with the Big Depot in Leeds and the Exposure Photography Festival in Sheffield and the Peak District, on his specialist topics of general rock climbing photography, off-camera flash, and analogue film photography. No matter what the workshop’s focus is, Dave uses his background and training as a qualified school teacher - and understanding of the way we learn - to ensure everyone comes away with the understanding they need to progress, and most importantly do it in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment.
