Part-competition, part-festival, 100% crack…..
Competitions set climber against climber, but it’s when we come together that the magic happens.
Crackfest is a fairly bonkers all-day suffer-fest run by The Depot climbing wall in Sheffield alongside Wideboyz. With a truly inclusive and fun vibe, prospective crack aficionados travel from near and far to compete, learn, and laugh. Dave’s brief for the day was to capture all facets of the festival, with a focus on the community and collaborative aspects, in addition to the actual competitive action itself.
All images were provided to the client - The Depot - with a fast turnaround time for deployment to social media both on the day and later, and for web use to promote the event the following year. Cue a long (but fun!) day behind the camera and a big stint at the editing desk later.
Online ordering of individual prints of images from the day was also offered via Dave’s Pennine Lines printshop to the competitors and proved a popular opportunity to capture a lasting memory of the day, and adds a little extra value to the overall photography package, at no extra cost or effort for the client.
